Je Suis La Vierge by NovvaKane Je Suis La Vierge by NovvaKane
Free will. Free speech. Free gender. Free religion. Free woman. Free race.

This was actually an idea that came to mind while I was in Western Art today. My teacher was talking about how pagan images of women would sometimes be converted over, in the early years of Christianty, to the Virgin Mary images. I always thought that was...strange. So, I decided to incorporate the Virgin Mary into one of my concepts. Now, I'm not bashing religion, if that's what you think. In fact, I'm just using it to prove a feminist point. If you believe in Christianity, then the Virgin is the most important symbol of your religion. Without her, there would be no Christ. Without Christ, there would be no Christianity.

We are all the Virgin Mary whether we Believe or not. We are all strong women with important roles. And we shouldn't let anyone tell us otherwise.

Nicely done. I like the smudge tool used on the hair to bring it out. Good technique.

Gaussian blur and overlay/hard light for the model?

Looks great.
